i watched the youtube clip that xintian posted. i remember the show's title but i don't remember what it was about. i think this show was made when thomas ong was the heartthrob of TCS back then right? and fann wong just started or something.
of course i watched all the chinese shows last time! there was only channel 5 and 8. lol. i remember the very old show with huang wenyong and xiang yun. it was about pple from china coming to singapore to work as labourer. what is that called..is it lu4 suo3 nan2 yang2?? then, not forgetting the damn popular shuang1 tian1 zhi4 zun1! haha i type hanyu pinyin coz lazy to change to chinese. i remember the theme song for the first shuang1 tian1 zhi4 zun1. it was by zhao4 chuan2. chen2 mo4 de4 gao1 yang2. coz my father always sing that when it's played on the radio. haha. last time we listened to 93.3. always tuned in to every sunday's long2 hu2 bang3. zao3 an1 lao3 shi1 is chen liping and her aiyoyo right. then the zoe tay's san1 mian4 xia4 wa1, i think. she had very very short hair and her name was bobo. haha. and back in those days, tv shows were always dubbed. nowadays, u can hear the actor's real voice which is so much better. don't really know why they dub last time, maybe coz the chinese not accurate? then clash with speak mandarin campaign?
and on the topic of childhood memories, do u all remember the sweets at the mama shop? the figure of 8? i always wanted to buy but my mother don't let me eat. haha. and the thing that u can blow the sticky bubble. i kinda have a deprived childhood so it was only until recently that i learnt how to play that. oh oh! and all the card games like SNAP! and playing catching, hopscotch, hide-and-seek, 2.4.6.8., zero point. i think our childhood is very different from kids these days. they have more gadgets to play with, but given a choice, i would still choose to be born in the 80s (omg so old right.haha). because life was so carefree back then. and we didnt grow up so fast.
what other childhood memories do u all have?
