happy new year! wishing all of you a propserous year ahead and may you and your family be blessed with good health!
hope you girls are having fun going around visiting relatives and collecting angbaos!
i have one scrumptious piece of news for everyone. well, cheryl has a malay wedding lunch to attend on 15 feb so she'll be free after about 1 plus. so i was thinking, how about we make it a high-tea date? we can save brunch for another time when there are more weekends in the month. haha.

january - cny cookies + steamboat!
it's a brand new year! and it's time once again for a jiemei outing!
this time, shanshan invited us to her house to bake cny cookies and have a steamboat dinner after that.
her mum was very nice and patient in teaching us how to make pineapple tarts, pork floss rolls and this crispy snack which looked like the mini ribbon candy (don't know what's the name though. haha)
it was fun sitting around the amazing table which looks small yet can fit all of us!
thank you auntie!
so we girls worked hard at getting those cookies into the oven and into our mouths! all this while preparing for our steamboast feast. woo we sure can multi-task very well.

cheers to the year ahead!

welcome to the mexican food galore!
warning: if you are hungry, dont look down first... =P
appetizer for the day: nachos! made with scrumplicious salsa sauce, with tinges of green chillis and avocado sauce. not forgetting the creamy tangy cheese. mmm..

main courses coming up next!
all comes with yummy mexican rice, salad (purple veg, hc's fav!) and beans (except 1 )
first, comes the baked burrito. using layman terms: spring roll.
fried but mmm.. a teeny weeny unhealthy. coz of the lack of beans! haha. tastes like fish and chips, but has a different feel with it.

second: chicken enchiladas with green salsa sauce! though you cant see any green thing other than the huge green patch of salad there. =P
third: soft mexican tacos. totally different from the tacos we ate at taco bell before. the crunchy feeling becomes soft. like breaded skin. level of spiciness: just nice for our dear xtian.
4th: healthy hc with of course, the healthiest meal. healthy baked burritos! with lots of salad, and green avocado sauce. suits her favourite colour: green. =P

anyway... i have 2 pieces of news!
GOOD news: officially free from presentations for the time being. who's free to go ktv/shop? haha.
tentatively, ktv next fri? so everyone okay? other than Hui Ching and Shan?
BAD news: leave is not approved for jan coz long weekend. too hard to take leave, especially in my industry. and according to previous experiences from the pharmacists, those days are SUPER busy. turns out everyone is either hospitalised/discharged those few days....
SO I can't go for my HOLIDAY!!!!
that's so damn sucky.
i want my break. sigh.

Thursday, November 13, 2008
hey girls, so our outing will be confirmed on:
Date: 16th November 2008, Sunday
Time: around 7pm
Venue: Currently unknown
We will probably just settle for dinner
POI: Wen has the car that day, so we can go somewhere interesting/inaccessible for dinner.
I will go think about some suggestions, but currently what I can think of...
Gilman Village - whatever is there
Dempsey - Mexican food
Old Airport Road market
Bugis - Turkish food
Arab St - Mediterranean food
Boon Lay Famous Nasi Lemak
Siglap
Joo Chiat (whatever's there)
A restaurant at Marina South. heard the ambience there is good.
Okay, that's all for now.
Make yourselves free for dinner k?

Alright.
Let's have another healthy outing. Though my nature walk didn't work out in the end, but I promise it will be soon.
Date: 16th November 2008, Sunday (PLEASE note the day, Xtian =P)
Time: Unconfirmed (have to see when you guys are free, which I guess, before dinner again)
Here are some suggested activities:
1. Fooling around @ Jurong Wave Pool
Don't know if you guys have been before, but it has been a long time since any of us went, I guess. Ya, that was what I intended for. But then, it's really hard planning for a water outing if we go in a group. You guys know what I mean.
Here are some photos of the place if you guys havent been there before:
http://www.sgwayoflife.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2134&p=4683
I guess we all need to relieve some childhood times now and then, and get into the sun (if there's one). Not forgetting, we can do some healthy swims, and sit in the jacuzzi. if there's space. haha.
2. Exploration of the Marina Barrage
Yup, in case you guys were too busy to notice, the Marina Barrage is fully opened! Okay, I don't really know what's there to do though, other than kayaking and paddling, which I am sure we can still do even if we kena that thing.
Other than that, we can visit the Sustainable Singapore Gallery at the Marina Barrage, which looks really interesting with all the water drops. You can see more here:
http://www.pub.gov.sg/marina/gallery/Pages/default.aspx
And we can go walk around Marina Barrage, and make our way from Marina South to Marina East, wherever that is. Haha. Have a nature walk, immerse ourselves in the view of the city skyline, and enjoy something new.
3. Wet Weather Plan
Sad as it might sound, but we always have to plan for wet weather, especially in this monsoon season. So even if we stay indoors, we should still do something healthy!
That is, playing badminton! Haha =P Its the only indoor sport I can think of, other than gymming, or table tennis (which I dunno). Squash is a little hard because of lack of rackets, and its quite hard to find squash courts in Singapore. Tennis is good, but it's outdoors. Boo.
Okay, that's all I have. Shall keep the rest of the ideas for the next outing. =)
